This page features all the beautiful rescue dogs Available to Adopt Now.  You'll also find our preliminary postings of dogs that are 'Just Rescued', are 'Under Evaluation', will be 'Available Soon', or with a 'Foster-to-Adopt' home. We'll post more details on these dogs very soon.  On occasion we will also show Courtesy Posts (dogs that are available to adopt through another rescue group that we'd love to help find their forever home).   Please click on a picture or name to go to a dog's own webpage with pictures and their story.

Sugar - Available Now
Sweet Sugar is a 35 lb 8 year young pocket Setter. She is good with other dogs and cats. She has mild separation anxiety and needs another playful dog in the home and a person that is mostly home. She prefers her person to be outside with her and is looking for an active adopter to enjoy daily walks/hikes with. Sugar is in a foster home

Rocky - Available Now
Eight year young Llewellyn Rocky was released to SWESR because of his skin allergies which are now under control with diet and regular Vet care. He is house trained and ok with indoor cats. He adores women and is a snuggly, wiggly boy. He can be anxious about other dogs and he will do best in a home where his person is gentle, patient and can spend time with him one-on-one. Royal - In a Foster-to-Adopt Home
Royal is a 3 year old beauty that was controlled in his previous home using a taser. He lived outside and was not socialized with other dogs. He was re-homed by a Good Sam on FB to a home that did not have the experience to deal with his issues. Now he is safe with SWESR and is in a foster-to-adopt home with our trainer in Dallas TX. He is doing very well ~ learning to trust people and learning doggy social skills.  Check back for updates!

Hope - (now Pepper)
In a Foster-to-Adopt Home
​Hope is a 4 month old Ryman Setter that was rescued by SWESR so she could have a very specialized surgery to correct a persistent right aortic arch. Her surgery is complete and she is doing well. She is in a foster-to-adopt home in Washoe Valley, NV. Check back for updates!

Statler - Available Now
Statler was born in rescue on June 27th. He is a confident, delightful young man who enjoys playing with his brother but would be ok as an only dog with lots of exercise and people time.  He is in a foster home in Dallas TX...more
Frisco Kid – Available Soon – Foster/Foster-to-Adopt/Furever Foster/Adoption
​Frisco Kid, about 10 yrs old, was a stray in a CA shelter. SWESR was contacted to help him because of medical issues that we hope are treatable and/or manageable. He is with a foster in SoCal who is a DVM. Check back for updates!

Bonnie - Just Rescued
Bonnie is 10-12 years old and has several medical issues that are under assessment in her foster home. She was turned in to the Tucson AZ shelter and we are very grateful that they recognized she needed lots of care and contacted us. She is safe, loved and being cared for. Check back for updates!

Sunny - In a Foster-to-Adopt Home
Sunny is an energetic 3 year old tri color "pocket setter", weighing about 38 pounds. She needs patience and guidance to transition to a beloved family member. Sunny is heading to a foster-to-adopt home in OKC, OK. Check back for updates!
Chief - Just Rescued
Chief is 4 years young. He is not comfortable with young children and sending him to SWESR was the safest thing for all. He is timid with people and will appreciate a quieter home. He will be available to homes without children as soon as he is assessed and has a dental. Chief is in a foster home in

Jonni - Available Now
Two year old Jonni is 100% Setter sweet. She has Addisons disease and will need meds and monitoring. She needs another active dog in the home to keep her company when her people aren't home. Jonni is in a foster home near Austin, TX. Potential adopters would need to be near Austin as a long transport is stressful for dogs with Addisons...more

Bandit - Available Soon
Bandit is an almost 4 year young Llewellyn Setter that is house and crate trained and good with other dogs. He has cluster seizures and is being treated for valley fever. He needs a large fenced yard and daily exercise. Bandit is in a foster home in Arroyo Grande, CA.

Kenny - Under Medical Evaluation
Kenny is a senior boy who was rescued from a shelter in N TX where he came in an emaciated and neglected stray. He is in a foster home in Boerne TX. He is as sweet as can be and is great with other dogs and cats. He has medical issues that are being treated; Cured of Chagas and RMSF, Cushings controlled with daily medication, IBD controlled with diet. Jessy is an 8 month old, petite 40 lb fun, energetic ES. She needs a Setter experienced home with another active dog in the home, a 6' securely fenced yard, and someone who can provide structure and a consistent routine. Jessy is currently in the Oklahoma City, OK area...more
Flynn - Just Rescued-Available Soon
Flynn is a 3 year old boy we rescued in Southern CA. He is only 37 lbs and timid with new people. He is under Vet treatment for a foot injury prior to rescue and we expect him to be ready by mid February. Flynn is good with other dogs he meets and a submissive dog in his new home is almost a must. Check back for updates!
