Hi, my name is Finnegan! SWESR rescued me when my previous people could not take care of me any more, so I’ve been living with the greatest foster parents ever for the last month. My foster parents love to take me on walks because I walk like a gentleman on the leash. I’ve heard them say, “Isn’t he amazing!!” I have a good laugh when they say that because of course, I’m amazing! When I prance around the yard and try to chase butterflies, they think I’m charming too.
I made friends with my foster dog brother right away. Even on my first day there, we liked each other. I follow him around the yard, and we get along just fine. I am also good with cats. I know some commands, but haven’t been around long enough to learn everything. I’m willing to learn, though, so in my forever home I’m sure I’ll learn a lot more.
Speaking of that forever home, I’ll be sure to greet my new people with my famous “setter-roo” voice and even thank you for my meals with a lovely “roo” too. Don’t worry though, I’m not a barker. If you have a few balls and squeakies, I’d love to play with those. But most of all, I love being with my people. They call me “Velcro,” but I’m not sure what that means. It must be good because they give me lots of love and pets when they say it. I would love, love, love to have a home where I could cuddle up on the couch with my people and be part of the family.
I’ll bet by now you think I’m a perfect English Setter, right? Well, I am almost perfect. I just have trouble with open doors and gates. Wow!! If I see one open, I’m, like, outa there. My foster parents say other than this, I’m the easiest guy ever. They even call me “calm, mellow, and chill.” I do need a home with a secure physical fence.
Oh, I’m a pretty big guy at about 55 pounds and am likely 5 or 6 years old. I just can’t remember my birthday, though. If I came to your house furever, though, we could celebrate the day I get there just like it’s my birthday. That would be the happiest day ever.
Finnegan is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and tests, on heartworm preventative and microchipped. He is in a foster home in Norman, OK.
