Southwest English Setter Rescue
One year old Mimi is a black and white Junction Jazz beauty who was rescued from a hoarding situation in Texas. She is doing well in her foster home where she lives with two older English Setters. Mimi plays well with her foster brother, but her foster sister just isn’t interested in play. Mimi needs a home with another active dog to keep her company.
Mimi has made friends with her cozy, stuffed animals and loves to have them close. She is very treat motivated and with patience and love is learning by leaps and bounds. She is great at self-exercising, so she can run off a lot of Setter energy in the yard. Mimi also does fairly well on a leash—for a young English Setter. When she comes in the house, she is happiest relaxing on the couch. Her foster mom describes her as sweet, sensitive, and velcro. Mimi’s foster home has no cats, so we are not recommending her for a home with resident cats. Like many younger dogs, Mimi likes to chew, so her home must be watchful that she doesn’t chew inappropriate things.
Mimi has shown no interest in birds, but likes to chase squirrels in the yard. She will need a Setter-secure fenced yard. She is a flight risk at an open door so she needs a home with older kids and a home where all doors and gates are very secure from a Setter bolting and not coming back.
Mimi has been spayed, fully vetted, and is gaining much-needed weight. She is in a foster home in Oklahoma and is ready for her forever home.
